ARTIST INFORMATION

Artist: Czar Catstick & The Emperor's New Clothes Collective @ Big Fat Arts Gallery

Influences include the Great Masters and Art Movements from the 20th & 21st Centuries; Cubism; Pop Art; The Bauhaus School; The Young British Artists from the 80s with Pointillism, Abstract Expressionism, Surrealist and Dada attributions. These works are considered with admiration and yet often also with a cheeky or irreverent twist.

I have recently been experimenting with patterns and fabric design which has been a pretty much all-consuming interest. I also do silly, cartoon style work on the side to keep me sane when the fine-art stuff starts getting too serious.

Stewart HR aka Czar Catstick: London Based Photographer, Designer, Artist and Fine-Art Printmaker.

Born in Lancashire and dragged up in Yorkshire. Art-School in York, North Yorkshire, UK (Art & Design Foundation) and Nottingham (Photography Degree Course), Stewart approaches the Art World from a background of Television Post-Production, Graphics and Special Effects.

Artworks have recently been shown at The English National Opera - London Coliseum - for the BBC David Bowie Concert to be broadcast later in 2019

Commissions include a large 7ft Geometric 'Bauhaus' canvas for offices at London Bridge and a large (119.0x84.1cm) Digital Painting of Architect James Adam (21 July 1732 – 20 October 1794) now hanging in the main Drawing Room of the building designed and built by him in Portland Place, London. The artwork was commissioned by one of the Senior Partners of an International Law Firm now based at this address.
